Gnomes are wonderful fairy-tale characters who are associated with the New Year, magic and good mood. Today, they have already ceased to be “evil gnomes” who sit on chests of gold and do not give their riches to anyone. Now - it is, rather, good characters who bring gifts. One of their kind uplifting! Interestingly, stitching a gnome is not difficult. For those who do not like to mess with the patterns, we offer a simple version of sewing a gnome from a sweater and nylon pantyhose.

For a simple gnome you will need:

  • sleeve from an old sweater;
  • filler (rice, buckwheat or other cereals);
  • a synthetic winterizer (it is possible to open an old pillow);
  • nylon pantyhose;
  • a piece of fur;
  • a piece of knitwear for the cap;
  • sewing machine, scissors.

Getting Started:

  1. First of all, cut off the sleeve from the sweater, tie or sew it from the bottom. Fill with cereal and sew.
  2. Cut a triangle out of fur - a gnome's beard.
  3. We form a nose from nylon pantyhose of light color and synthetic winterizer. We sew it together with a beard to a piece of sweater filled with croup.
  4. From a piece of knitwear we form a cap (a long beam), sew it to the gnome.
  5. At will the cap and the body of the gnome can be decorated with embroidery.

Here are some examples of magical gnomes:
