Nice to receive flowers as a gift. And every time they start to fade, it becomes very sad in my heart. If you want to keep a flower presented on a special day as a keepsake, or you are simply interested in ways of extending the life of the flower and preserving its original appearance, you can use 3 effective methods described below.
Perhaps this is one of the classic ways to save the flower. In glycerin, you can preserve several buds, creating an interesting composition in a vase. And you can go another way: save a whole flower, for example, a rose. The rose in glycerin remains the same flexible and “alive” for several years. To save the best fit tight, not too "young" bud. Green leaves before conservation should be removed. Rose should be no more than 15 cm long. The composition of the mixture to save the following:
- glycerin - 1 part (100 ml);
- hot water - 2 parts (200 ml).
Rose should be placed in a container with water and glycerin. Optionally, you can add a little rose oil to the mixture. As the water evaporates and glycerin is absorbed into the rose, the flower is preserved, the liquid in the rose is replaced by glycerin. Absorption of glycerin can take from 7 days to 4 weeks. As you absorb, you can pour the mixture to get a more lasting result. Of course, this method is not fast, but the result is worth it - the rose preserved in this way will delight you with its magnificent original appearance for about 3 years.
Another effective way to preserve long colors. For work you will need:
The method is quite simple: it is necessary to melt paraffin, cut into small pieces, in a water bath. When the paraffin is completely melted, you need to take a flower and pour wax on each petal, after removing all the dull and uneven areas of the flower. Separately melted wax is covered with a stem. Then you should tie a thread to the stalk and hang the flower to dry until the wax is completely cured. Thus, the flower can live for about a year in its original form.
Silica gel will help keep the fresh cut flower beautiful for quite a while. To do this, take:
- container with lid;
- silica gel (can be purchased in stores for creativity).
Cut the stems of flowers, put 5 cm layer of silica gel into the container, place the flowers in the silica gel with the stems down. For additional effect, light circular motions sprinkle silica gel on the buds, taking care not to damage them. Close the container with a lid and leave it for 1-2 weeks. In the open form, roses will be enough for 3 days in silica gel.
The result of the work will be wonderful, bright, beautiful flowers that will delight you with their original appearance and remind you of the memorable day for a very long time!
