Decorative bricks from egg trays


Finishing from an artificial stone or imitation of a bricklaying looks effectively and interesting. An obstacle to repair can be only the high cost of materials. This master class will tell you how to make an interesting decor, using what you would otherwise have sent to the trash.

You will need:

  • Egg carton trays;
  • gypsum;
  • warm water;
  • polyethylene film;
  • paper napkins;
  • putty knife;
  • plastic bucket;
  • finishing putty;
  • brush;
  • acrylic paint

Sketch the size of your future bricks on plastic wrap.

Crush the cardboard egg tray, tearing off the pieces with your hands.

To fill such a bucket it took three trays. Fill the shredded cardboard with warm water and leave for a few hours.

When the cardboard is softened, add 2 tablespoons of gypsum to the mass, and mix everything well. If the weight in the end is not thick enough, you can add gypsum.

Turn the tape markup down and attach tape to the surface of the table. Now carefully lay out the mass on each cell.

With a spatula, form each individual brick. Excess water is removed with a paper towel.

Leave the bricks to dry for three hours. After that, cover each element with a putty diluted in water.

After that, it is better to dry the bricks in the open air. Hard putty completely hardens in 8-12 hours.

To the wall, decorated with this decor does not get dirty, cover each brick with acrylic paint.
