One of the common ingredients to prevent darkening of fruit is lemon juice. And although this method is effective, it is not always desirable, because the fruit remains an acidic lemon flavor. If you are looking for an alternative, then we offer you another, less well-known culinary trick, how to prevent fruit darkening without using lemon. It will allow the fruit to stay fresh much longer than using lemon juice.
For this you need honey and water. In one glass of water (240 g) dissolve 2 tbsp. l any honey (if necessary, you can make more or less honey water, but with the same proportion). Then pour the chopped fruit (or vegetables) with the resulting solution for a couple of minutes. It is enough to hold them in honey water for 2-3 minutes to prevent darkening of the sliced fruit for 6-8 hours.
The special properties of honey allow you to keep fruits fresh much longer than lemon juice, in addition, it does not leave them a specific foreign taste.
